5Slim & Solid
By P. Parker
Bought this mount to pair up w/ a 1.25" thick 46" LED TV. Wanted as thin an over all end-result as possible. I didn't want to limit myself to just flat on wall or tilt adjustments. I only want 1 TV in the house & it needs to be viewed by a 2 y/o sitting on the floor or party guests standing in the living room (or just flat on the wall 98% of the time...).I had just installed a much cheaper full motion mount for a renovation client, about $89 dollars and I had no problem mounting it. It covered the same range of tv's as the Peerless, 45-60. I was really unhappy w/ how far the actual TV was off the wall, about 4 inches. Ruined the whole set up as far as I was concerned, this got me over the cost issue. I was happy to pay almost $300 for the asthetics alone.HOWEVER, I was blown away by how solid this thing is, cast metal arms, heavy everything, super-tight specs. Just a very well built and thougth-out mount. I expect to have this on the wall for years. It should get me from my new 46" to my future 55" or 60".I didn't have any trouble hanging it, but I am a general contractor & love tools & my house has ship-lap walls, so I could screw it anywhere, but looking at the factory mounting holes; if you have studs anywhere between 12.5" to 19.5" apart you should be able to get this on the wall. I hung it myself, w/ a sleeping 2 y/o in the next room, but I am awesome. I suggest an extra pair of hands, a proper level and you should be fine.Over-all, I am thrilled w/ this unit. It is a joy to use something that is built as well as it can be and fullfills its needs.

4Excellent mount!

this review is for the Peerless SUA765PU Ultra Slim Articulating Wall Mount for 42"-65" TVs (Black)Bought this after quite a bit of research for a 55" LED TV and I used it for about 2 weeks so far.The good:-bought from Amazon, arrived faster than the delivery date!-very good packaging, it comes with various hardware for different types of TV and mounting solutions.-pretty sturdy construction, good looking when the TV is extended, even the bolting holes have caps, covering the wall mounting bolts.-the movement is firm and smooth, extends the TV all the way up to 28in from the wall, and when folded keeps it really close at about 1in. I did not have to adjust any of the joints tension, left it as it was, I consider it adequate to move the TV in/out, swivel it left/right and tilt it up/down using 2 hands placed in the middle of the TV, on top and bottom. Before I bought it I was afraid that the TV is very slim and I didn't know how much torsion can it take in order to perform all these movements, so the mount had to be able to move and hold the desired position without applying too much torque on the TV. I am happy to say the mount performs VERY WELL in this respect; I don't have to apply a lot of pressure when setting the TV in whatever desired position and the TV stays tilted and extended for extended periods of time (overnight) without losing position! I checked that with a tape measure, more than once, lol...Now the bad:-I had to use the extenders on the back of the TV mounting brackets so I can use all of the TV inputs as the mounting/brackets on the back of the back of the TV were covering some of the AV IN; this increased the distance from the wall by about 1/4in (total distance to the wall = 1in), however this depends on the TV size and model, I did not subtract any rating star because of it.-it did not come with a template for the wall mounting, so I had to make my own. For almost $300 I believe a piece of carton with holes it's well within the price.-the wall mounting bolts may be adequate but I thought they were a little short. I did not perform any resistance calculus, it was just my intuition, so I went with longer, sturdier bolts. I did not subtract the ranking stars because of this one either).- MY MAIN COMPLAINT is the cable routing: I have 4 HDMI, 1 LAN, 1 RF and 1 optical (sound) cables connected to the TV, plus the power cord... This may be a little more beefy than your regular setup, but I believe a regular setup should include at least 2xHDMI, 1xOptical, 1xLAN + the power cord. For this regular setup I believe there should be some type of flexible cable routing to make them look neat when the TV extends. With my setup I had to spend quite a few hours to route and hang the cables to the mount in such a way that when the mount is extended they allow for the free movement without limiting the degree of movement or applying pressure against the movement/desired position and also, when the TV is pushed against the wall, the cables are neatly tucked away from sight. The `cable management' solution is a laughable 1in bracket that slides over one of the the main joints and has a hole for putting a tie-wrap through it to hang the cable...So ... I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the mounting template and for the lack of cable management solution, but if I would be in the market again to buy a slim mount for a 55in LED I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN!I installed everything just by myself but I would recommend 2 people for this job. Also, like with any other extensible mount, pay attention to the studs location so you drill the holes in the correct locations, and make sure you are using a good level and you will have a great looking mount/TV!

4great mount, idiotic stud mounting holes
By Robert Hills
Yes it is absurdly expensive, but if you want your tv to fold back into a recessed area this is the only articulating mount that folds to less than 2" flat. It is black, not battleship gray which is nice. it is solid, doesn't sag, no play and the dual accordian arms make it much easier to extend and retract the tv without mis-centering it. BUT, if you built the recess with 16" studs carefully centered on the recessed area you are just plumb out of luck (other phrases came to mind, however this is a family website). Why? Because there are no mounting holes 8" to each side of center: They are, I kid you not, 9.26" or 6.94" off center with 0.5" play to each side. And those of us who might say,"OK, I can drill holes in metal" will be frustrated to know that doing so will certainly void any warranty and will also likely weaken the mount. Me, I'm lucky, I reinforced the entire mounting area before drywalling so these stupid holes will work--but every one else--make sure the offcenter hole placement for 16" studs will work for you.
