592-inch is absolutely monstrous.
By royalwalter3
I just bought the 92" from Aarons. It was right around the same price as it is on Amazon, just a few hundred more. They carried the TV into my house and set it up for me. Be warned: The TV is extremely heavy. It took 4 men to carry it off of their truck and into my house. It's easy to set up and the remote is really easy to figure out. Another warning: you need to sit at least ten feet away from the television so that the picture isn't blurry. It also needs to be on a stand because it doesn't have a wall mount. Another warning: it needs to lean against the wall because it's kind of tippy if it's not well supported. However, I left my dog alone with it in the bedroom for a few hours while I ran to the store. He loves to climb on things and jump up on them whenever possible. The TV was still standing just fine. If you go to the Aarons website and type in "TV Console", click on '72" TV Console'. That's the one that we got with our television. I'm not sure exactly how much it costs and I can't find it on Amazon. It hangs over a little bit on each side by about 6 inches. With this stand, it's approximately six feet tall. My wife is 5' 2" and when she stretches her arm up flatfoot, she barely reaches the top of it. Without the stand, it's about four and half feet tall. It's also pretty wide; about 8 feet. The television is a little over two feet wide, so when you're planning out the space of ten feet, make sure you take that into consideration. It is a lot of money for a television and I wouldn't recommend buying it if you need to move anytime soon. Before you choose to buy a television that large, make sure that there's plenty of room to put it.ONE MORE THING I RECENTLY FOUND OUT!!! Make sure you view the Mitsubishi website. On there, they have a list of authorized dealers. Amazon is an authorized dealer, however some of their resellers are not. On the website it states:"DON'T BE FOOLED! While Amazon is an authorized online retailer of Mitsubishi products, many resellers who sell on the Amazon marketplace are not. When purchasing, it is important to note where the product is being "shipped from and sold by," which is stated clearly in the header for each product on Amazon.com."Why does this matter? If you're not using an authorized dealer, there isn't a warranty with it. It's better to pay a few hundred more to have your TV under warranty. To find out if the place you're looking at buying your TV is authorized to sell it to you, type "Mitsubishi TV" into Google. The website will be "mitsubishi-tv dot com" You'll want to make sure the little hyphen is there. Click on the website. On the left hand side, navigate to "Retail Locator". When you click on that, you can either type in your zip code or click the gray box that says "See Online Retailers" on the right hand side. If you scroll down on the page that comes up for online retailers, they also show common unauthorized dealers, including ones from Amazon and eBay.UPDATE!!!Glad we bought the TV at Aarons. About a month ago, our stand broke. We called them and they came and replaced it with a new one for free. Our first one was wood, with beautiful doors, but the weight of the TV caused it to bow and the doors no longer closed.Today, 3/19/2013, the sound from our PS3 stopped working. I checked our Wii and the sound on that worked fine, but that uses AV cords. I checked the sound using a headset connected to the PS3 and that worked fine. I checked my XBox 360, and the sound on that, which is also HDMI, doesn't work either. Called someone and they'll be here on Thursday, 3/21/2013, to take a look.

5GREAT FOR GAMING
By Yongari
After months of contemplating which LED TV made by my fellow Koreans I should purchase, I came across this gem one day. "DLP? LOL!" I thought. Little did I know that DLP technology improved drastically over the past decade.First off, this T.V. is gorgeous. The picture, once calibrated (make sure you go google some settings because out the box the picture is mediocre). At first I was a little disappointed, but after proper configuration, the T.V. looks as good as the Samsung LED we have in our other living room.Gaming wise, I popped in a bunch of xbox 360 games, and oh boy, the picture was great. No blur whatsoever. Don't be fooled by 120hz vs 240hz that LED's advertise. You won't even be able to tell. Not in the slightest. 60 to 120 there is a noticeable difference in gaming, but 120+ you really can't tell. Game consoles that output that many frames per second anyways.Halo 4 looks particularly amazing on this TV. When the master chief's arms and guns are life-size, you feel pretty awesome.Speakers are ok. Loud, but don't seem to balance sound very well. For example, in most games, voices seem not-quite-loud-enough while everything else (bullets, etc) sound very loud. Maybe I can adjust this.If you don't want to spend like $5000 on a 82 inch LED tv, this is the best bang for your buck. From the front, not one of my friends or neighbors were able to notice that this TV was not LED. Even from a diagonal angle, the TV is cleverly designed so that you can't see the back popping out at all. Everyone thinks the TV is a thin LED~

I upgraded from my old Philips 37 inches basic TV. The upgrade forme is huge. The size of 73 inches is just right for my living room. The picture quality is excellent. Even in bright daylight, I did not have any problems even with tons of windows in my living room. 3D is amazing - but the tv does not come with glasses.THe sound system is effective but for a fully immersive experience, I would suggest adding a surround sound system.TV does take a bit of time to start up (7-10 sec), but not a deal breaker. Another irritating thing is it takes time to change channels (using my comcast box), if the channels are in different HD format eg. 1080 vs 780. (in the process the screen remains black).TV is smart enough to remember your devices. Once a device is plugged in (say PS3), it will automatically switch to that input. Has other features of a regular TV (sleep, child lock, video adjustments, audio adjustments etc)The TV is big in size, and as others have mentioned, seems structurally weak. But I think the TV is strong enough for its size and purpose. Mine arrived from Arizona to PA without any problem.Comes with a good remote with big buttons - No problems there. For the price being offered here for this model, I think it is a definite buy. Heck, this is cheaper than most of the regular TVs being offered in the market right now. Do factor in the cost of getting 3D glasses (another 100-150 bucks) if you want 3D.Update: Mitsubishi has decided to stop manufacturing these TVs, so these will be the last iteration of DLP tvs from Mitsubishi. They have still promised to continue customer support for the currently sold TVs.

5Excellent value, from purchase to operating cost
By BajaCapt
We had this TV for one month, we bough it here at Amazon.comAs the title for this review indicates, this TV set is an excellent value for the money.Picture QualityI will start with the picture quality, we got this set connected to a Dish Network HD satellite receiver and the detail is very good for 1080i picture, and depending on the channel since not all Hi Def channels provide the same quality material, this TV does not disappoints, for example, HD Theater and Discovery Channel, 2 of our favorite channels, provide some of the best HD material in the programing choices, the pictures is quite amazing on this quality broadcasts among others... Now with a Sony Blu Ray player connected via HDMI, playing some reference material such as "The Fifth Element Remastered" Blu Ray, the picture detail is simply as good as it gets... The colors are accurate, bright and natural looking, the blacks are deep and give a great look to the overall picture.I also appreciate the HDMI jack in the left side of the TV, I use this to hook up my HD camcorder to review our footage prior to editing on my computer, this side HDMI connections makes it easy to connect anything from camcorders to Gaming Consoles etc without having to reach around the back. The picture adjustments with the remote are very easy to navigate through after getting yourself familiar with it, one quick word here about the remote, the remote has quite a narrow beam, this means that if you are close to the TV (from lets 4 feet or less, as I was while setting it up for the first time) you must aim the remote at the infrared eye which is in the lower left of the TV, this is less of an inconvenience when you watching the TV at recommended distance of around 9 feet, at this distance the beam has a chance to spread and just aiming it in the general direction of the TV does the job. With that said, the Menu is well laid out and intuitive. The Sound Quality. This is the weak point of this TV, the default sound settings produce a less than desirable sound from anything you have your set tuned in to, however, if you go into the Audio Settings you can somewhat alleviate this by going in the Equalizer Advanced adjustments, there are 5 adjustment bars there of 120KHZ, 500KHZ, 15KHZ, 5KHZ and 10KHZ, in there what I did was to tune down the 10KHZ to minus 8, the 5KHZ to minus 12 (the lowest setting), the 15KHZ to minus 7 and then maxed up the remaining 2 on the left which are the bass settings, by doing this it diminishes the very high treble sounding small speakers that come with the set and this settings gives an overall fair sound for general TV viewing. Now for movies we have a dedicated 5.1 sound system connected via Optical Cable from the Vizio Optical Sound output jack, this works beautiful :) I had considered subtracting a star from the 5 given because of the sound, but after adjusting the default sound settings the sound is fairly adequate for general viewing so I left all 5 stars in there. The remote. As mentioned in the Picture Quality paragraph, the beam is very narrow on the remote, but this is only an issue if you are very close to the TV, if so you will need to aim the remote directly at the infrared eye on the lower left corner of the set, I was sitting very close while doing initial adjustments and that is how I came about to notice this, but once done, the viewing distance from our bed is about 12 feet or so, at this distance the remote operates just fine.It is a fairy comfortable remote with a good layout of the buttons, it is glossy black, it does not have back light illumination, not a big deal to me, but one thing I wish it had was an "Sleep" button, since it is in our bedroom and when you get that sleepy feeling it would be nice to have easy access button to this feature without entering the menu, which is what you need to do to set up the "Sleep" feature. Again, not a reason to subtract a star from the rating, the remote does its job well, perhaps Vizio will add a dedicated "Sleep" button in future sets.Power Consumption. This set shines here again, I connected it to my "Kill-A-Watt" meter and depending on your picture settings, it can variate from 30 Watts to 100 Watts of power consumption, my set with my preferred settings uses 50 Watts of power, I have the backlight set at 45, this is a very bright set so a higher backlight setting is not really needed, but then that is a personal preference. On stand by, this set uses less than 1 watt, this is a highly energy efficient set.Final words. We are very happy with our purchase, I consider this some of my best spent entertainment dollars, great deal from Amazon, great TV set, well packaged and saving money also on the electric bill, if you need a TV set on this size range, you should definitively consider this Vizio, you will not be disappointed.

5Finally went HD!!!!
By John P. Tracy
The Mrs. said I had to wait for my 32 inch Sony tube TV to finally croak before justifying a new TV, and I am so happy it did (I swear I wasn't kicking the old TV honey!) I did a ton of research and found the Vizio Razor to be the best bet for the $$ (under $600 at the local wholesale warehouse), and I could not be happier. I also looked at the (non-LED) Vizio 37" LCD TV (E370VA) for about $150 less, but I was really attracted to the LED backlight technology, and considering what all these HD flat screens cost a couple years ago, I figure the expense is worth it. My 32" Sony was over $800 ten years ago!Setup was easy, really the hardest thing is understanding the best way to hook up the TV to my Comcast DVR box and other components. Definetely use the digital connectens (HDMI to DVI on my older DVR Cable box), or you wont get the 1080p resolution!!! The on screen menu system and remote are easy to use, and the getting started guide (which I looked at after setting up the TV for giggles) was informative and covered the bases without being too confusing. I was amazed that the remote worked on my cable box with out having to input any codes, but I did have to set it up for my DVD, and that took a little research online at vizio.com.The picture is so clear even on non-HD channels it is silly, but when you watch HD programs you really can appreciate the technology. The built in speakers are good, but I did connect the system to an old surround sound system I already owned so both the sound and picture are amazing. The system uses so much less power and space than my old TV, I wouldnt be surprised if my electric bill is lower! I just need a crane to get the old beast out of my house.

4Good Value
By J. Rodricks
I bought this TV in store for 629 which is what it's going for from Target through Amazon.I had been in the market last year but ended up passing because I wanted the power savings of an LED backlight but it was a large premium at the time. My other issue is that I don't have room for anything bigger than a 37" TV. Frustrated, I gave up.This was bought as a gift though I had been very close to buying it for myself. This TV is extremely bright and has an ambient light sensor that does it's job well. I configured the video to my eye and am very happy with what I am able to get out of it. Note that I am a photographer and am very picky about color tones. This TV is very adjustable and allows you to adjust anything a consumer would want. There are also a variety of useful presets which are actually quite good (ie: movie, football, baseball, gold, vivid).I did very little adjusting of the sound out of the box. It's well balanced and can get loud enough. It's fine, not great. I'd say it's above average for a TV but nothing compared to a dedicated sound system. The TV does feature pretty good de-noise video processing. However I've had better luck keeping sharpness turned down. 1080i from Comcast isn't a great signal so I cany fault the TV. 1080p Blurays look stunning so I know the TV is capable of displaying really great video.Overall I'm very pleased with this TV. Though I didn't pay for it, I would have no reservations doing so. Moreover if this TV was available in the price range I was looking for I would just get it. I wouldn't spend time shoppingnfor anything better- this is close to as good as it gets for the price.

5Honestly...for the simple consumer...buy this TV
By Michael C. Ruderman
I am simple. Simple tastes. Simple pleasures. Simple needs. I will research a major purchase enough to know what will stick around for 5 to 10 years depending on how much technology changes, look at my budget, and fire away with the best purchase I can make. That being said, my requirement was 1080p, 240Hz, 55" with a Blue Ray player. 3D didn't matter to me at the time, but when I saw the deal for this TV, which included 3D, the Blue Ray (with 3D) and the glasses and the (How to Train Your Dragon) movie for a cheaper price than what I was pricing just the TVs for in previous weeks, I snapped it up.The results, pure and simple, are stunning. We watched Train Your Dragon with the 3D glasses and were quite frankly blown away.Yes, in this day and age, everyone wants to be the expert of what they know and poo-poo anything that is not professional quality, not top-of-the-line whatever and will write extensively about it...and this is actually a good thing for sure. But to me, does the technology deliver? Absolutely! Was I blown to the back of my seat. Absolutely. Was the quality of the picture great? Absolutely. Will 99.98% of purchasers like this product? No. They will LOVE it. The rest can write 10,000 words about how and why spending the extra money will prove to be the better choice for exactly 6 weeks until the next more-awesome thing comes along to trump today's tech.Simply stated...you want something that is great and will last for years? Come get it. It's here, it's cheap enough to say yes, and you will not regret the purchase if your life has more to do with just being entertained with what you have instead of always pondering what you could have. There will always be Ferrari (and the like), but somehow I think the rest of us simply enjoy a really well built, reliable, affordable car with a good sound system that will last. This is that purchase. Let the Porsche and Ferrari owners duke it out over track times and performance that most likely they will never experience from day-to-day anyway. And if you do like performance above all else...be prepared to pay for the experience that comes with it. This works plenty for my 1 to 2 hours viewing experience per day.

5HDMI 1.4 is supported
By Nothing Shocking
For those looking for this bit of information, I have the TV and it is hdmi 1.4, Amazon has it wrong in the Description and you can even find this information in the Product documentation if you don't want to take my word for it. This TV also can upgrade a 2D hdmi 1.3 signal to 3D. The cloudy lighting issue some see with the Edge-lighting technology reported on the 2009 product has been greatly improved for 2010 and I can't really say I even noticed it a in a black scene. Folks need to stop using past products to review current products, this is 2010 and not 2009. Outside of that, performance wise you will be blown away and will feel less pain knowing you just spent your child's college fund.

3Better than 2009's Samsung edge lit LED LCD's...just not enough to eliminate a few issues/flaws
By A. Leetham
I've owned this television for a few weeks now, and I've been putting it through a battery of tests using a variety of different sources and room lighting conditions. To get right to the point, I am returning it -- it will be picked up this week -- and waiting for either the UNC8000 precision dimming edge lit led set, or perhaps either the XBR-HX900 or XBR-LX900 from Sony. The C7000 is a good TV. It compares favorably -- if not signficantly so -- to any of the edge lit led lcd's that Samsung released in 2009. However, it doesn't hold a candle to the UNB8500 that was released late in 2009. It is also outperformed by Vizio's latest (552), the Sony XBR 8, and even LG's LH 90 gives it a run for it's money and outperforms it in a few important areas. Essentially the performance of the C7000 is either matched or exceeded by multiple televisions that cost significantly less. If you are not a videophile and do not concentrate on picture performance in a completely darkened room, I'm sure this television will suit you just fine. However, if you are a videophile and/or picture performance in a completely darkened room and accurate reproduction of theater film viewing is very important to you, this television is not for you. This TV exhibits many of the same problems that plagued Samsung's 2009 series of edge lit led's -- namely, a lot of light shining through from the corners, top and bottom, and sides of the picture while viewing in a darkened room -- and does not perform the way you would hope for a television that costs this much. Samsung did improve upon the fluctuating back light problems of last years edge lit led's. This television does not have a fluctuating back light problem at all. However, I must come back to the issue of light shining through from the edges of the screen. It's a big concern for anybody who wants to reproduce a natural theater experience and view films the way they were meant to be seen. You simply cannot recreate that experience with this television. When you view a film -- or any other content -- in a completely darkened room, it is impossible not to notice the light shining in from the edges. That is a huge problem for a lot of us. I will say that when you are viewing a film in a bright room, this television is an outstanding performer. It is also an excellent performer for viewing sporting events, animated features, and other lively bright content in a brightly lit room. Of course, most of us do not wish to pay $3,300 to only be completely happy with our televisions when we are watching them in a brightly lit room. The light shining in from the edges also creates the potential to create a lot of problems with 3D viewing once we have sufficient 3D content available. Imagine trying to immerse yourself in a 3D viewing experience and not be able to focus on the 3D atmosphere due to the fact that there is light shining into the viewing area. I just don't see it working. It seems that it would be a major obstacle in viewing 3D content. Imagine going to see Avatar in 3D or IMAX 3D and having light shining into all of the edges of the film. There's just no way that it wouldn't distract you and take away from your viewing experience. I foresee this being a huge problem for 3D viewing once we have the content. I will discuss some of the positives of this television because I don't want anyone to think it's a bad television. I would have really given it 2.5 starts out of 5 but Amazon doesn't allow for a half star so I went with 3 because the positives probably do outweigh the negatives on this TV. The color accuracy is what we have all came to expect from Samsung, which is to say it's flawless. The black level is outstanding -- if not up to par with the local dimming led sets such as the 8500 and the XBR8, or the Pioneer Kuro 151 plasma -- and does not have the fluctuating backlight problem. The black level is definitely better than last years edge lit led sets. The video processing and motion resolution is beyond reproach. It appears that this particular feature is probably comparable the 8500, which is the only lcd in history to be able to resolve all 1080 moving lines. It will be interesting to see if this television can do that once the reviews come out and the video processing has been tested. This television handles 24fps content perfectly, and reproduces the proper cadence of film based content. It is definitely a good television, it just has some major flaws, and is outperformed by a few sets that cost over $1,000 less. The potential for 3D viewing problems definitely exists, and Samsung needs to find a way to cure the problem of having light shine in from the edges of the screen.

5Great TV at a Great Price!
By Steveo
I was looking for a decent sized TV for my studio apartment. I did a lot of research and had several candidates, but I decided to pull the trigger on this one due to the specs and the crazy low price that Amazon had on it at the time (mid $300's). I'm on a strict budget, so finding something at a great price was the biggest selling point.I haven't looked at TV's in years, so I was a bit behind on my knowledge regarding them. I looked at the ones with internet apps, but I have a gaming console, so that wasn't really needed. I looked at 3D TV's, but I don't think the 3D technology is good enough to invest a couple hundred extra dollars in. I looked at the new "LED" TV's, but unless you're wanting to spend thousands of dollars, you're only getting LED "edge-lit", which may actually hurt the picture quality, as it's only being lit up by tiny LED's around the edge of the TV.One thing that initially turned me away from this TV is that it was only had a 60hz refresh rate. So many other manufactures are promoting 120hz TV's, so I thought 60 would be sub par. So, I set out to do my research to see if there was a huge difference between 60 and 120hz. It surprised me to find that having a TV that's over 60hz may actually be a worse choice. In short, the source footage (cable, video games, dvd's) is never greater than 60Hz. For example, when you watch a movie on Blu-ray, it's a 1080p picture at 60 Hz. The disc displays 60 interlaced or 30 progressive frames at 1,920-by-1,080 resolution per second of video. Enhanced refresh rates like 120Hz, 240Hz, and various other speed-boosting features on modern HDTVs seem to try and push the concept too far. You can't add detail beyond what's in the source footage, so basically they try and interpolate data between each frame to produce additional frames. The data in those combined frames can only be based on the source frames and whatever mathematical magic the HDTV is employing to figure out the middle ground. Tastes can vary, and you might enjoy the motion-smoothing effects of an HDTV with 120Hz or 240Hz modes, but they don't add any actual detail to the video, and they certainly shouldn't be considered deal breakers when you're shopping for an HDTV.Moving on, one surprising thing from this TV is the sound. To me, the sound was MUCH better than expected, especially when compared to other smaller TV's. I was going to buy a sound bar, but I'm more than content with the built in sound.Since we're talking about sound, this TV has something that even the most expensive models seem to not have (from what I've researched). It has an audio only mode, which allows you to completely turn off the screen while still listening to audio. This is helpful if you're say streaming music from you PS3 or listening to a music channel on your cable box. It will allow you to save money on power and likely even extend the life on the TV itself.Overall, this is a terrific TV at a great price. It has surpassed my expectations and I couldn't be happier.

5Excellent picture and 3d sound!
By y2g
I never use JVC TV before. I bought this TV from somewhere else because of 90 days return policy. I was just surprise to see the picture quality. I never expect such beautiful picture quality and sound in this price range. Picture is so clear, crisp, sharp and vivid. It has excellent 3d sound. It's frond boosting 3d sound is really super!! No need to buy separate sound system. Have to pay $250 more to get same quality from other famous brand like Sony, LG, Samsung and Panasonic.Nobody will regret after buying this TV. Now need to see the stability of this TV.I definitely recommend this TV.

5GREAT LOW COST 3D TV FOR GAMES AND MOVIES
By tnil
Toshiba seems to be the underdog in the HDTV market, but they really should be on top!I play Xbox 360 fps games (Call of Duty and Battlefield), and wanted a 3d TV that could handle games well. I purchased the Toshiba TV over LG and others for two reasons, price and the built-in CEVO chip. It has a built-in game mode, but I have found that it doesn't really matter because the TV responds very well in all modes. As for an Amazon review, I had to return the TV because it had a bright light in the upper corner. It was not Amazon's fault. Toshiba reported that the TV is defective. I have not received a refund from Amazon, but I do not have any doubts because Amazon is amazing! I purchased another exact unit, and I am very happy. Details follow.PROs*Cheaper than all other 3d TV models in the 42" class (as of 12/2011)*3d TV with 4 pairs of glasses*240Hz with the ability to turn off*Smart TV with both, wired and wireless, apps built-in*The TV is really 42" diagonally, most other TVs in the class are 41.x*Color is beautiful, better than the other brand models in my opinion*Games are amazing with or without 240Hz turned on*2d to 3d conversion is not amazing, but works well on HD content*Includes adapter cables for component and RCA connections*Ports...so many ports on the TV*Great sound output to sound system (it has so many ports that I decided to use the 1/4 mini-plug for audio)CONs*TV takes about 15 - 20 seconds to turn on from a cold start, warm start is only about 5 seconds (my older Samsung TV took 10 seconds, so this is not a big deal for me)*For the best 3d quality, you need to be eye level (if TV is mounted on a wall above eye level, it may be a problem)*No HDMI cables included in the box

5Great 3D, Reasonably Priced Glasses
By D. Sharkey
The real question for me was passive 3D quality. The result is similar to shutter glasses. If there is reduced video quality I can't see it. The polarized glasses included with the set (4 pairs) are of good quality. I purchased several pairs of used Real D glasses online and they feel a little sturdier(paid $.90 per pair delivered). The other basics: 1080p as good as any TV I've seen, good 480i picture, basic(but passable) TV sound, easy setup and a nice backlit remote. Wireless access to some web content, One button to access netflix. Easy access to youtube and a few other video services. Widget availability is almost laughable. Can't find true access to the web. 2D to 3D conversion is interesting. Not really 3D, but adds a little something to baseball. I was a little worried about the size (in 3d size does matter), but the 3D is good quality from approx 5 to 12 feet. The darker the room the better.

5Very nice.
By Alan
Was waiting for a 42 inch from LG but couldnt wait anymore. I was afraid this wouldnt have an 'in your face' 3d effect I saw from an LG in bestbuy. But after playing the same LG 3d demo, I am impressed. Ive been using the tv for 3 days now, 3d and 2d is great. Some cons - it takes about 15 seconds to turn on, and sound is not too good. 3d effect on this tv is much better than in the theaters. I recieved the tv the next day. Highly recommended!
