5Much better than I expected
By Alana Anastasia Diaz-Sutton
This is the first 1080p 120Hz LCD Tv that I bought. I had previously purchased an LG tv however it was 720p. This Tv is GREAT! I love the Net Tv as it has podcasts that you can watch as well as Netflix, Pandora, Facebook etc. Setup was a breeze. Downloading and updating the software was seamless. Yes, I am technical however non-technical people should be fine too :-)Watching tv this way I am aware of the camera angles and I feel like I am right there experiencing everything with the actors. I purchased this tv for our Master bedroom and it is the perfect size. I did purchase a digital antenna so we could get the local channels for free and I also purchased a Roku. The only thing this tv is missing is a Web browser. That being said the picture quality is great and the Surround Sound is pretty good. We have speakers in the bedroom from our previous living room set and hubby is taking his sweet time in hooking it up since the sound from just the tv alone is great.I definitely recommend this tv and I feel pretty pleased about my selection. Trust that I researched the heck out of multiple tvs before choosing this one.

5A great set, Awesome display
By Marlon P
I was at 1st reluctant to purchase this set, since I have always satisfied with Samsung products. But because of thesale at the time and its a 120hz system I jumped at it.Upon arrival it was very easy to handle, one person can handle this set very easily. Easy setup, the remote is a little confusing, but after 10 minutes I was breezing right along. The picture is awesome, I have Comcast hd and this set just pops with lively color, its truly remarkable. The sound quality is great, but i have a Onkyo surround sound system makes the sound stand out. The 120hz video makes gaming, I have no words to describe.I have not tried the other features, but am eager to try the internet feature. It has a built in WiFi or you can hardwire straight to it with an Ethernet connection.Phillips has won me, even though I still like Samsung products, I will still look at Phillips before I make final decision.

4good pic but lacks optical audio
By Caperie
So far we like the picture and sound quality. However, did not realize that most sound bars and home theater sound systems are going to digital optical audio. Found a panasonic sound bar that uses hdmi, but better quality ones use the optical and do not have hdmi. Also, be sure you have a high bite rate to use the tv connect. We only have 6 mbps and that is not enough to use the software. No app for Amazon video streaming or rentals. Pandora is great as well as netflix. Seems like you need to use a USB to download software updates as well.

4LG 60PM6700 Not Bad So Far - See update 6/10/2012
By Ryan Lamprecht
I ordered the LG 60PM6700 on Friday March 11th, with Free Supersaver Shipping, and it was already delivered this evening Wednesday March 16. That was fast! Two guys brought it in, set it up, and made sure everything was as it should be before I signed for it. I've only had it for about 6 hours, so I'll give my initial impression, then update it in a few days after having more experience with the set.I had previously purchased a Panasonic TC-P60S30 from WalMart for a really good price, but in the end, I was not happy with its extremely dark picture and overall substandard picture quality, so I returned it.Right off the bat this LG blows away the picture quality of the Panasonic model I had returned. Granted, this one cost me about $300 more, but I can tell you it's already worth it. So far I've tweaked the settings to where I like the color, brightness, contrast, and black levels. I used the Picture Wizard II, but then did a few more minor tweaks to suit my taste, which tends to lean towards a brighter picture. I did have an inexpensive Element Electronics 42" LCD sitting here while I was shopping for a replacement. I can say, the LG doesn't have quite the bright picture and vivid colors the smaller LCD has, but it does completely blow away the 60" Panasonic plasma I had returned. From what I've experienced, heard, and read, Plasma's just don't quite have the bright brilliant pop that LCD TV's do, but this LG looks pretty darn awesome. My tastes run towards a brighter picture, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to getting the settings I want from a TV. So far, I find this LG very pleasing. As far as the bright vivid picture I'm looking for, this set gets me where I want to be.So far, I've viewed some HD Dish Network content (Restaurant Impossible on the Food Network), and it looked great. I then put on Rango through Netflix over the built in WIFI. The jury is still out on that since I'm not sure if my WIFI isn't the best, or the TV's WIFI isn't the greatest, but WIFI over my Panasonic BluRay player seems to look fine. I then connected a LAN cable to the TV and went back to viewing Rango through Netflix, and it looks great; almost DVD quality. I'll report back about the WIFI once I figure out if it's my WIFI network or if the TV's WIFI connection isn't the greatest.Next I watched part of a DVD I burned to back up one of my movies (a DVD copy of a DVD movie) through my Panasonic DMP BDT210 BluRay player. The picture was crisp and clear, but I noticed a lot of motion judder. Even messing with the de-judder setting didn't help. It may just be my copy of the movie, but a couple of times I had previously watched it on the LCD I had and didn't notice the judder at all, so I'll have to watch a few more of my copied movies and report back.I now have a store bought DVD of Alice in Wonderland playing, and it looks absolutely amazing, and with no motion judder at all. I still have to dig out a few of my BluRay disks to check that out, but I can't imagine even a Blue Ray looking much better than the standard DVD already looks. My family room is huge, so I'm sitting about 15 feet away from the TV, and I can count the individual hairs on Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter wig.I took advantage of the free two pair of 3D glasses being offered through Amazon when purchasing the LG set, but they have not arrived yet. I should have them in a day or two, so I'll have to wait to report about the 3D experience.I have noticed one design flaw in the TV stand. Due to the glossy black half inch beveled angle of the front of the stand, it tends to reflect brighter scenes, which is a bit distracting. It's a minor flaw, but if I decide to keep this set, I'll likely paint that thin strip of the stand with some flat black spray paint or use some flat black tape to cover it and eliminate the reflection. Of course if you mount this set on the wall, then this won't be an issue at all. (Update 6/10/2012 - As it turns out, this reflection from the stand is really not an issue. I rarely even notice it at all.)So far I'm very pleased with the set. As I said, I'll report back in a few days.5/20/2012 UpdateIt's now been 4 full days of owning the LG 60PM6700 and thus far it has surpassed my expectations. The picture quality, color, brightness, and black levels, etc... ALL AMAZING! I've been through three other large screen TV's. Let's just say I'm pretty picky when it comes to being satisfied with a television. My first was a 50" Samsung I had for exactly 4 years, and it died. I purchased a LG 55LW6500 LED 3D TV, which I sent back due to horribly intolerable motion blur and judder. I then purchased a 60" Panasonic TC-P60S30, which had an incredibly dark picture and overall substandard picture quality. That one went back after trying to live with it for nearly 3 months. I also own two 40" LCD TV's which are in our bedrooms. Both of the LCDs have great picture quality. Until now, the best of all of them was definitely the Samsung plasma I had, but this new LG blows them all away. The picture detail of the LG 60PM6700 is crystal clear. The colors are awesome, the brightness is great, and the black levels are very good. I have some coppied DVDs that I burned to back up some of my favorite movies. Often the picture quality from the copied DVDs is far less than that of the originals. This TV converts the signal to a higher definition and makes even my worst copies of DVDs look pretty amazing; much better than on any TV I've ever viewed them. The 3D is pretty cool, especially the 2D to 3D conversion. It's pretty cool watching sports (I really only religiously follow drag racing) and flipping through family photos converted to 3D. This TV has so many bells and whistles. I love the apps. The web browser is a bit cumbersome, but with some practice I can see it getting easier. The smart phone app pretty much replaces the Magic Remote, so no real need to purchase that if you have an iPhone or Android.I have yet to see a perfect television. In my opinion, as of yet, they just don't exist. It seems every set has its flaws. What one excels at in one area, has its shortcomings in other areas. I don't believe in rating a TV 5 stars if it has flaws, no matter how pleased I am. It doesn't leave anywhere to go with the rating when you do find that "perfect TV," so it just dilutes the whole rating system. This is why I give this TV 4 stars and not 5.So here are the flaws:*There is some noticeable ghosting on moving objects; some content worse than others.*I've noticed some slight motion judder on occasions, and some motion blur; again only on occasions.*That super thin frame doesn't remain as thin when watching the TV. LG has added an additional black boarder around the actual picture, when then increases the total frame width to about an inch when the TV is turned on. I wish they had not done that because one of the beautiful features about the TV's design is that very thin half inch frame, but even with the addition of about another half in when the set is on, it's still a very thin frame, and very attractive design. Odd that they did that though because it's misleading to claim a super thin frame, if it's only super thin when the set is turned off.*The Active 3D isn't the greatest to watch is even a moderately lit room like mine. In the light of the room your peripheral vision will pick up the flickering of the glasses, when can be a bit distracting, or for some, even annoying. (In a dim setting, you can't see it, so it's not an issue at all, and the 3D looks great. The 3D has some nice adjustment features which does allow the viewer to tweak the 3D effect to their comfort level, and the glasses are very lightweight.)So, as of day 4, I'm amazed at the picture quality, and all this set has to offer. If my opinion changes, I'll surely update my review.Update 6/10/2012I've now owned this television for exactly a month, and I have to say, this is the best television I've ever owned. In my opinion, those rating this TV 2 stars have not compared it in their home to other 60" televisions; but I have. I also believe they aren't realizing that all TVs have their flaws in some area or another. I've compared a lot of sets and I can say with confidence, there simply is no perfect television on the market, and the larger TV, the more magnified the flaws. I have compared the LG 60PM6700 to other 60" televisions I've owned, and to other's I have not owned, and can safely say this TV blows the others away; especially for the money. I originally purchased the television for $1,499 and since then Amazon has lowered the price to $1,299 I called customer service and they promptly refunded me the difference. Trust me when I say, for the money, even at $1,499 you can't go wrong with this television. The picture quality, along with all its bells and whistles, blows away much more expensive TVs that make all sorts of grand claims.

4Updated review - Owned for nearly 1 year now
By Don
I have to agree with one of the other reviewers. I had the tv for about a week before the software asked to update. I wish I had known before I allowed it to update, because the picture was pretty good up until that point (I hadn't done a lot of picture adjustments yet), but once the software updated, I got the same effects as the other reviewer. Ghosting motion whenever anything moves somewhat quickly. Soap opera effect on some channels - it seems to be more pronounced on certain channels. The blurry motion, or "ghosting", happens all the time, no matter the quality of the input source, however the higher quality channels definitely look much better than the lower quality channels. It looks like a funhouse mirror effect around a face or body whenever the motion is quick or they walk in front of a fence or other object that has a criss-cross pattern. I too contacted LG via email and a phone call. They said they were aware of the problem caused by the firmware update & their engineers are working on fixing it. However, they made it sound like it would be done in a couple of days. It's been just over a month, and no updates yet. I'm a bit frustrated because, as it is, the tv is worse than my cheap 40" Dynex LCD flat-screen with a 60hz refresh rate, and I bought the plasma thinking that with the 600hz refresh rate, I would never have to see any blurred motion again.I have since made several, and I mean several, adjustments to the settings to try and minimize the problem. So far, the best I've found is with the Noise Reduction set to "high", and the TruMotion set on "user" and the effect all the way up to 10. This doesn't always seem to be the best set-up, but overall, it did help. I still play with the settings when I get irritated with the ghosting, but it pretty much just frustrates me more.I didn't return the tv, because I am holding out hope that LG will get the problem fixed soon, and because I put another $100 into 2 more pairs of 3D glasses (got 2 pairs free) that I didn't want to have to return. If LG does get the software problem fixed, I would definitely give the tv 5 stars. The problem is, how long will that take?On a side note, the 2D to 3D conversion is a pretty cool function to have. It makes any show you want into a 3D picture. As I don't have a 3D Blu Ray player yet, I can't compare to what a real 3D movie would look like, but for now, it's a pretty cool option on the tv.One other negative - no Amazon Instant Video in the internet apps. The LG representative replied via email that he would put in a "request to the factory" to let them know that I had asked that this app be added, but who knows how far that will actually go. I have a Roku box I can use for access to Amazon content, but it would be really nice not to have to plug it into this tv just to watch my Amazon movies, since I already have the Roku hooked to a different tv.UPDATE 7-28-2012A couple of days ago I finally found a new firmware update available. I downloaded the newest firmware, and voila, the ghosting is gone...so is the soap opera effect. I have now given the tv 5 stars, as it really does have a beautiful picture. I thought about giving it 4 stars for not having Amazon Instant Video as part of the internet apps, and because it took so long for LG to update the firmware, but I bought the tv knowing that the Amazon content wasn't there. Just remember to go back into your picture settings and turn off (or down) the Noise Reduction and turn off the TruMotion controls. This will now make your picture look much better during scenes with fast motion.P.S. Only a few days before this update came through, I found that I could set the tv on the "game" setting, and this took away most of the problems described above. Too bad I wasn't smart enough to try this way earlier - I had done just about everything else.UPDATE 2-9-2013The tv still has a beautiful picture, and I like it a lot, but a few months ago, the picture started to get "jerky" when watching anything through the tv's Netflix app. I wrote an email to LG, but got their standard "sorry about your problem" non-answer and asked that I call customer service for more help. Since I also have Netflix through my blu-ray player, I just stopped using the tv's app for a while. In December, I decided to check it out again, and the tv's Netflix app was still doing the same thing - picture would get very jerky after only a few minutes, and then it would come and go. I called their customer service, and they had me go into the tv menu and reset the apps using the "Initialization of Premium" menu choice. This didn't help. They told me if this didn't work to call back, and I'd probably need to have a technician look at it. I only have a couple months of warranty left, but I'm not sure I want someone to tear my tv apart for this, so I haven't yet called back. Although it does bug me that it doesn't work properly, I feel like it has to be a software problem, not the wi-fi module, because it seems to work fine with the other apps I've tried. For this reason, I've dropped the tv down to 4 stars now. I still may call for service, but I haven't decided yet.

5plasma vs LCD
By Jeffrey Liu
I was just a regular Joe looking for a good deal for a new 3D TV on line. The brand did not matter to me as much. My biggest struggle was trying to decide between Plasma vs LCD/LED and active 3D vs passive 3D. I am not in the gaming. I just wanna get a great TV so I can enjoy it after long hours of work. I finally picked this Plasma TV with a newer version of the active shutter goggles. So far, it has been a week and I love it. I think I have made the right decision. This Plasma TV still gives me the great quality of TV in 3D or 2D. The goggles are very light weight. The smart TV features are cool and nice. This TV truly delivers as described on Amazon. The only complaint I have about this TV is that its WiFi is weak. I am not sure if it is the problem from the TV or from my wireless connection. The WiFi still delivers what it is supposed to 95% of the time. I think it is still not too bad for a "smart TV". I would recommend this product to anyone.

5Very Good TV
By C. Sanders
High quality TV; a lot of bang for your bucks. The outside of the set is very attractive. I have another 3D television that is 240 MHZ and the 3D effects on this set are as good (which is very good). Remote is uncluttered with many, easy-to-use, simple features. You can't go wrong with this bargain.

5Excellent addition to the "man cave"
By Wayne
I did quite a bit of research looking for just the right TV for my game room. This is an important detail when considering any review as well. Not everybody has the same goals. My requirements were at least 50", no extra features, LCD or Plasma, good picture quality, and it had to be inexpensive. I already have a dedicated Media Center PC ready to go and never have liked "smoothing" or 120hz+ effects. Oh, and I wanted it here in time for the 2012 Olympics. It's being used in a medium sized Media/Game room that measures about 14' x 13', give or take a few inches. There are 2 windows with blinds. And I'm normally sitting about 8-9 feet away. This room has a couple of computers, so it's used as an office / game & media room (aka "man cave").DESIGN & INSTALLATION:The TV is only about 2" thick at the outer edge and has 1.5" border around the screen, so it looks very nice and thin. If you include the portion at the back that you can't see, you're a bit over 3" deep. It also only weighs about 40lbs. However, there is a larger "base" at the bottom where the included stand mounts. This base protrudes towards the back almost another ½" than the rest of the TV. This can be an issue when using the low-profile Cheetah APTMM2B mount I purchased as it does limit the angle at which you can adjust downward.Fortunately at 4' off the ground, and with the help of the spacers that came with the mount, I was able to just barely get the angle I wanted for the TV without touching the wall. That does limit where I can route the cables since there isn't space to run them towards the middle and there is no way any screw driver I have is going to fit or reach from the bottom to tighten the extra support screws. I'll have to get a bendy screwdriver or something to reach from the side; otherwise it's not going anywhere.I would still prefer that the stand mount at the back like others I've seen (and have), instead of bolting directly to the bottom. That eliminates the need for a larger base that's inevitably going to get in the way. There is also a small green LED on the front of the TV. Which is good as this TV doesn't make any noises turning on or off. It's dim enough so I never even notice it when I'm watching a movie at night. And it's not one of those LED's that gets super bright when you look at it directly. That's it on the front as all of the physical buttons are hidden behind the recessed backing to the left, including power. You can easily see from the specs to see what inputs it has. You'll also note I don't list having 2 HDMI ports as a negative. Considering its price and the fact that I'll be eventually hooking this up to a receiver that will handle all HDMI switching, it's not a factor for me.PICTURE:So how does it look? After its calibrated, it looks excellent. As with most TV's, the default profiles leave much to be desired. My sources are OTA (Over-The-Air) HDTV, Blu-Ray, DVD, and hundreds of other TV shows that I stream or have on the Media Center PC. So far, they've all looked great. Even lower quality content looks decent. I don't currently have cable or satellite. As with all high resolution displays, lower res content will suffer a bit without upconversion. Fortunately most of what I'm viewing is at least 720p or higher. Or it's already been upconverted. I've been watching the Olympics just about non-stop since it started and I'm still impressed with how good it looks. One of the most impressive features is just how darn good the contrast ratio and viewing angles are. This has one of the best black levels that I've seen on any LCD. We're talking Plasma or DLP levels here. With LCDs it's very common to to have that greyish tone to "black" levels, especially with movies or dark scenes. Not an issue here. I also have a work bench directly below and in front of the TV and I can easily sit there and watch TV without any issues. It's not a 100% perfect at that sharp angle, but pretty darn good. The only slight negative is when looking at certain large solid bright or light colored images, you can see some very slight unevenness in the backlighting. You can see some areas that are ever so slightly darker than others. I've seen this effect with other TV's as well. If you think that might bother you, just be aware. However, I will add that with the many different sources I'm watching, it's rare that I even notice it. And I'm quite sensitive to any imperfections in displays regardless of how minor they are. In many cases, I have a hard time even pointing them out to other people. :) I also noticed you can lessen this by adjusting brightness and backlight settings. So far, it's minor and rare enough that it hasn't bothered me.GAMING:I also wanted to use the TV for playing the occasional PC game. I'm using a 25' HDMI cable to hook up my gaming PC on the other side of the room for that very purpose. I simply turned on "Game Mode" and fired up BF3 and Starcraft 2. So far, I haven't run into any input lag and everything looks great. At least none that I've noticed. So as a PC monitor, you're good to go.It does have a VGA port if you want to use it, but for the best 1080p image, you'll want to stick with HDMI. If you're PC doesn't have that, you can easily find cables or adapters to convert your DVI or DisplayPort to HDMI for a full digital picture.CALIBRATION:I wasn't able to find any other professional presets on-line for this TV, so I pretty much started from scratch. This is a combination of adjusting on the fly and a bit of help from the Disney World of Wonder calibration disc. Which I should note, is pretty darn cool. Since some of this is indeed personal preference, you may just want to use this as a starting point and go from there.Disclaimer: I'm not an A/V "expert" by any means and I'm still playing with these settings. :)Picture Settings:Contrast: 85Backlight: 54DynaLight: OffBrightness: 56Color: 52Tint: -3Sharpness: 4Advanced Picture Settings:Dynamic Contrast: OffStatic Gamma: 0Color Temperature: MediumCinema Mode: VideoNoise Reduction:DNR: OffMPEG Noise Reduction: OffTheater Settings:Picture Size : NativeAuto Aspect Ratio: OnSOUND & REMOTE:The built-in speakers are what I'd consider to be very average and "typical" for a flat screen TV. They're OK and get the job done. Just don't expect a full or deep range of sound. The options to adjust the speakers are also quite limited in the menu system. I'm running a 700W 5.1 PC surround sound system, so that's not an issue for me.The remote on the other hand, isn't great. It has all of the right buttons, but it's not universal, and is very picky as to how you're pointing it at the TV. Just the wrong angle or not aimed perfectly at the IR sensor, and it'll ignore your input. So it's a good thing there is that green power LED so I know it turned off/on. At least it gives me an excuse to eventually get another Harmony remote.Pros:+ Thin design+ Great Value+ Contrast ratio+ Color accuracy+ Viewing angles+ Picture quality+ LED Backlit+ Game ModeCons:- Remote- Average speakers?- Minor image uniformity issue*CONCLUSION:Needless to say, I'm very happy with my purchase. Everybody that has seen the TV is equally impressed with the overall picture quality. They immediately assume this TV costs twice what it does. This bright LED backlit TV works great in the "cave" and has minimal glare as a result of the windows in the room. In fact, it's so bright that some may find themselves turning down the backlight at night time.I also added an asterisk to the "con" for the uniformity I noted as it's so minor it's almost insignificant for my use. But I put it there as an FYI. So if you're purchasing this for something along the lines of what I was looking for, I consider this TV highly recommended. If not, I'm sure you'll still like it. :)

5Great Picture - Grate Price
By Christopher Anello
I was shopping for a new TV for our family room after our plasma was shattered during shipping to our new home. I liked the quality of the plasma but it was heavy and would not work well in the new room full of windows. I found this 50" Toshiba for the same price as most same size plasmas. I was concerned bout the fact that it was 60hrz instead of 120hrz but to be honest cant even tell. Probably once the Olympics starts I may get some speed issues but most movies are made to fit 60hrz anyways. Not sure what he hype is about the higher htz, probably just marketing. The screen is nice, not as reflective as other competitors, and nice and bright. The only negative side is the 2 HDMI inputs. For a good all around TV for cable and kids movies its worth it. If you are looking for TV with all the latest technology like 3d and smart than this is not for you.

5Brilliant Deal
By Rusty Klesla
This TV handles everything I've thrown at it.I went with this model based on price alone. I got it at 650.00 from Amazon, and considering that I live in Canada and picked it up cross border it was an insanely good value. The closest I could find here was a 699.99 on a 50% off sale for the same model, and that doesnt include shipping (Free from amazon), 12% sales tax (no sales tax at the time from California Amazon partner), or Eco Fee (no eco fee in the US on consumer electronics to my knowledge). In all, I ended up paying the 12% tax to import it and saved over 200 dollars on eco fee/shipping charges. This was on top of the differences in TV Price.I did not want 3d, I didnt need a SmartTV with wireless or integrated internet capability. I run a 25' HDMI cord from my desktop to the tv already, and with a tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab) I can remotely play, adjust volume, pause, stop videos from my desktop. Therefore, I wasnt after every bell and whistle offered in the TV market. That being said, this TV delivers on fantastic picture, fantastic and surprisingly powerful audio, and great depth of color. The start up is reasonable and much better than many tvs of similiar size. The picture remains awesome at almost every practical angle you can see it from... My neighbours could easily cancel their cable package if I left my curtains open.I highly recommend this TV, the price is hard to beat for LED and if what you're doing is displaying shows from your PC, playing Xbox, or watching TV/Sports then it cant be beat. If you want it to iron your shirt and pick you up when you feel down, try a human because the TV market isnt quite there yet.

3Okay
By JC
This was my first venture into the LCD market. I bought it a few years ago and it's has been a good tv with decent picture and audio. Since getting this tv, I have viewed many other LCD tv's and found that the picture on this is not bad compared to higher end tv's. There are some downfalls though. For one thing, if you are viewing the tv at more than a 30 degree angle, the picture becomes blurred and grainy. The color could also be better but for a relatively cheap tv, it's not bad. The one thing that really threw me off was the lack of any audio output. I recently bought a set of wireless headphones so I could listen to the tv at night without bothering others in my family who are trying to sleep. I was shocked and disappointed to find that there is absolutely no audio output. In my opinion, this is a major flaw in the tv. If it weren't for this, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Proscan TV again.

5Great little Internet TV
By Amy Shurts
This television has been great so far! The colors are vibrant, the sound is loud and resonant, and the Smart TV features are few but exactly what we wanted. It's a perfect size for our bedroom, too. My husband and I had been looking for something to replace our 27" CRT TV, and decided to take a bit of a leap on this TV. It had no reviews, but the similar non-internet model has high ratings, so we decided to give it a try. When we got the TV, we found that it came with a very nice glass stand. It has Youtube and Netflix setups, and they're very easy to control with the remote. So far, buffering time with either is VERY short to non-existent (that could just be our high-speed internet, though). We haven't really tried to use the sharing function yet.All in all, a great TV for the sale price we got it for. I didn't think we'd be able to get a TV with wifi for under $500, much less one that works so nicely.

1Warranty? Hardly.
By Cap'n Jan
Update: It is November 7, 2012: Our TV has been at the 'repair shop' (warehouse? Garbage dump?) now since the first of August 6, 2012. That makes it 3 months. In talking to my husband last night he said "I bet the reason these TV's are so inexpensive is they bought up all the discontinued parts sitting around in China, assembled the TV's and sold them dirt cheap." So what if they break? They are disposable! Trouble is they don't inform the customers that they are throw-aways. Instead they talk about their warranty! And their Customer Service!!!. The disposable TV theory makes sense to me particularly given the treatment we have gotten. I am putting this review on EVERY TCL TV even though we only bought the 42 inch version. In looking at other reviews (and not just on Amazon) TCL has this same ho-hum attitude about customer service for ALL of their TV's. I promise to eat crow if we ever see that TV again, but I don't think I'll be burping feathers any time soon. I would bet money we will never see that TV again. I'd appreciate any comments where people have had satisfactory customer service - it might restore my faith that I will see that TV on the front porch in the next couple of years.----------------------------------My original review written in October still stands:When we set it up, we were very happy with the picture quality, there were a few dead pixels, but that doesn't show up much and we weren't concerned. But the whole panel died after only 6 months. We aren't big TV watchers either. The thing was on less than 5 hours a week.So we contacted TCL (after several tries to get them on the phone), they gave us the number of the repair shop we were to send this TV to. After several tries, I got them on the phone. They agreed to send us a box to ship it in (a whole other fiasco, but that's not to do with the TV).We received the packing box (after a couple of weeks). We packed it and sent it to them Fed-Ex the same day.Now the Big Wait begins. After 3 weeks I called (again, several times, for several days before an answer). Oh, its here, it is in our shop and they are working on it. Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks because we are So Busy!!OK. Fine. We wait some more. Three more weeks. I call (yes, again, several times over a period of days before I get an answer). NOW there is a problem getting the part. But it should be in 'any time now'.Hmmm. So I wait some more. Another 3 weeks. I call (here we go again! several times a day, for several days -FINALLY an answer). This time someone let the cat out of the bag and told me that the 'panel' that my TV needs is on 'back order'. They have a warehouse full of TCL TV's waiting for this part. She was honest enough to say that it could be 3 months or 3 years before it is received. They simply do not know.Of course it is not the repair shop's fault. I am mad at them for not being more forthcoming, but it is TCL's fault for not providing proper warranty service - TCL simply does not care about customer service.I will update this review as things change, but things probably won't change. This week I am due to call again. I am nothing if not persistent. So, you can go ahead and buy a TCL TV, and you might get lucky and get one that works for a while. But then you can send it to the repair shop so it can keep mine company - in the 'warehouse full of TCL TV's needing repair'.Fair Winds,Cap'n Jan
