Before purchasing this LCD TV/DVD combo I did quite a bit of research. During that time I found two 24" models from Toshiba. What I wanted to know was what the differences were between the two. I noticed that this model wasn't as common as the Toshiba 24SLV411U 24-Inch 1080p LED-LCD HDTV with Built-in DVD Player, Black which have had many reviews. After some in depth research I found out some of the differences between this model and the other more common one. Keep in mind this is a LCD TV/DVD combo with an LED backlight. One of the features "missing" from this model is a dedicated yellow composite video jack on the back which personally I don't have a need for. Keep in mind the composite video functionality is still there but it uses the Green jack instead of having a dedicated yellow jack. What this means is if you use the Green jack for composite video, your RGB component input cannot be used for another device. It's either composite or component but not both. The other difference is in the sound system. This model has the better sound processing via Audyssey's audio technologies which includes Dynamic EQ and ABX. This model also feature Toshiba's Dynamic Picture Mode which "creates the right amount of "pop," and provides more colors, finer details, less visual noise and brighter, realistic pictures." Interestingly on Toshiba's website both models have the same MSRP.I chose this model over the other because of the Audyssey sound processing and a lower price bonus. I didn't see any benefit in paying more for the other model and getting less features and one added feature (a dedicated composite video input jack) that I didn't have a use for. With that said this LCD TV/DVD combo seems to be a good value. Externally it's stylish with a black glossy finish and narrow chrome accents on the left and right edge of the bezel. The pedestal stand has built-in tilt capability. The neck of the stand could also be removed from the LCD for a clean wall installation via the standard VESA wall mount holes on the back.In terms of performance this TV has very good picture quality. After making some custom picture adjustments it gives good color, good contrast and clear images. I don't know what the native resolution of the LCD panel is but this TV supports 1080P sources. OTA HD broadcasts look good, Blu-rays via a separate player look good as well. Sound quality via the Audyssey processing is good but since the speakers in this TV size category are small, there's really not much that I could compare it to although it does list the speaker configuration as being two-way ie separate tweeter and midrange speakers..which is good. The built-in slot loading DVD player is easy to use and played on the very first try with no problems despite the fact my DVD was a recorded DVD-R DL. The eject button on the TV is located above all the other function buttons so it's easy to find in low light during or after movie watching. There's also an eject button on the remote.Rear ports include a USB jack that allows you to plug in a portable storage device to view pictures or listen to music..as well as a VGA connector for hooking up computers with old analog video outputs. An optical TosLink digital audio output which you can either set to output Dolby Digital or 2ch downmixed PCM is also present. For those concerned about electricity usage, this TV only consumes 0.65A Max which means you'll only be paying around $6 per year according to the Energy Star rating. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and hopefully this TV and the built-in DVD player will be reliable over the years. For those interested..my own custom settings that gives good overall picture quality:Contrast: 90Backlight: 75DynaLight: OnBrightness: 58Color: 35Sharpness: 14-18Static Gamma: 0Color Temperature: MediumDynamic Contrast: OffNOTE: MAKE SURE TO INCREASE THE "TREBLE" SETTING IN THE AUDIO MENU TO MAKE DIALOGUE MORE CLEAR.

Bought this unit for a beach cabin and have had several comments on ease of use from guests and staff. The guests push all the remote control buttons on directv remote, then complain "the tv don't work". Have had no such problems with this tv yet. Picture is good and my only complaint would be the time to turn on is a bit longer than the old cathode tube tv this replaced, a few seconds till picture appears, no big deal. The tv is a very good value and will be purchasing a couple more very soon.

This is amazing for only $260 you get a amazing hd tv that is quick and looks great. It has holes for 2 hd cables,1 component cable,pc cable, audio cable and usd cable. It will not work with composite cables I know this because I bought this to replace my standard tv which was hooked up with only composite cables so this did not work with anything I had but it has a built in DVD player and I switched my DVR to hd so everything works.Update: it works with composite cables you just have to go to settings and switch it from color stream to av cable.
