Simple Shelving Solutions Model BLG-00048 is a sleek and stylish way to add a 48" black glass floating shelf to many of the most popular HDTV stationary and tilt wall mounts, without any tools. It’s patent pending design attaches directly to the stationary or tilt mount, not the wall. The black E coat aluminum extension arms with wall bumpers attach to the anti lift locking mechanism to safely secure the floating shelf to the wall mount. The 3/8” thick black beveled glass is 12” deep and adjustable in height. Holding up to 30 lbs., Simple Shelf is perfect for the cable box, DVD or other devices. To hide the unsightly wires from your devices, a cable management system is included. The Simple Shelf currently works with 32"-60" stationary and tilt mounts from AVF Vector, Bello, Chief, Haropa, Ionic, K2, Level Mount, Luxor, Monster, Omni, Peerless, Premier, ProMount, Rhino, Sanus and Welton. Good:- I'm the first to post a review- The black glass just flat out looks awesome with my TV.- The adjustable shelf gives you plenty of options for placement in both vertical and horizontal.Bad:- It's not cheap.- Will work with the majority of mount, but maybe not fully.- Get your vacuum ready to suck up the Styrofoam bits.- Seems unsecure- Suction cups really suck.The shelf is an L bracket on an adjustable extension which hangs by a J hook on your TV mount. However, that's about all it does. There's a "security" screw that goes in to prevent the shelf from being pulled away from he wall enough to cause it to come loose. No other method is used to secure the shelf except gravity. There are adjustable rubber feet at the base of the L to line the shelf up for horizontal and they can also act to keep it from shifting.I bought this to go with the following mount: Cheetah Mounts APTMM2B Flat Screen TV Wall Mount Bracket for 32-65-Inch Plasma LED LCD TV. Since it's a standard J hook design, the shelf works fine. But this is a low profile mount and the shelf's extension arms prevent the TV from resting all the way up against the mount and I'm unable to engage the safety screw. Fortunately, I have a tilt mount that I had to adjust to bring the TV back t vertical.The suction cups are a PITA to install (little press through things) that really do suck hard to the shelf, but if you have to remove it, they're liable to get messed up. If they had the little release tabs, it would make it much easier to work with.Finally, I'm nit-picking but still... The packaging is the hard, loosely bonded styro packaging that breaks off easily and sticks to everything due to static.I do think the black glass is flat out the best looking thing I've seen in a while. The cord channels are spacious and functional.If you need a wide shelf for a big TV, this is it...
